17th Annual Oakland MLK Day of Service

Volunteer groups and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to join Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service volunteer projects throughout Oakland, Monday, January 21 2019. Thousands of volunteers will participate in Oakland, and nationwide. Oakland will host outdoor service projects to clean, green, and beautify parks, open spaces, and neighborhoods; as well as indoor service projects such as food pantry assistance. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is sponsored by Service for Peace and The Corporation for National and Community Service. Service for Peace has organized this annual event in Oakland since 2003. Volunteers are asked to bring water, and wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate gear. MLK Day is a rain or shine event.
