“Social Distancing – Five Years On” brings together, for the first time, a collection of works painted during the height of te pandemic. These paintings reflect our shared experience – capturing the uncertainty, stillness, isolation, grief, resilience, and unexpected beauty of those unprecedented times.
Kristen Jensen is a Bay Area native who has been painting professionally since 1999, and currently works from her studio at Studios Eleven in Oakland, California. Her abstract and representational paintings are composed of organic textural elements superimposed with a conscious linear structure. Many of her abstract paintings include architectural elements that hearken back to her childhood fascination with the blue prints her father brought home from his architectural practice, and the seeds of her current landscape series, “Sea Ranch,” were planted during a family road trip in the 1960’s, when the famed coastal community was in its infancy, and sheep still roamed its meadows.
